PrintReal does not collect your images and has no accounts. It does show ads from Google, which use cookies. This page explains what that means in practice, what stays on your device, and how to turn off ad personalisation.
Your images never leave your device
Every image operation in PrintReal — measuring, laying out, splitting into poster tiles, generating the PDF, AI upscaling — runs inside your browser, on your own hardware. The files you open are never transmitted to PrintReal or to anyone else.
This is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise about how we behave: there is no server that receives images, no storage bucket, and no account to attach them to. When you close the tab, the images are gone from the page along with it.
What is stored on your device
A few small things are saved locally, in your own browser, so the tools behave sensibly between visits. None of it is sent anywhere.
- Language preference: the language you pick in the switcher, so the site opens in it next time.
- Interface preferences: small settings such as the cut-line thickness in the Real size tool.
- Language suggestion dismissals: a record that you said "no" to the "switch language?" card, so it stops asking.
- Hand-off storage: when you send an image from Upscale to Real size or Poster, the image is held briefly in your browser's local database (IndexedDB) so the next page can pick it up. It stays on your device.
- Offline cache: a service worker stores the site's own HTML, CSS, JavaScript and fonts so the tools keep working without a connection. It caches the site, not your files.
Cookies and advertising
PrintReal shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies to serve and measure those ads, and the ads can be based on your earlier visits to this site or to other sites. Some of those cookies are stored on Google's own domains and others on printreal.app itself, put there by Google's script, which runs on this page. PrintReal's own code does not set them and does not read them. From Google we receive aggregate figures, such as how many times an ad was shown, and nothing about individual visitors.
Your images are not part of any of this. The advertising does not get your images: PrintReal's code never hands an image to an ad, and no image is sent to Google or to anyone else. They are processed in your browser and stay there.
You can turn off personalised advertising in Google's ad settings. You will still see ads, just not ones based on your interests, and Google may still use some cookies for things like limiting how often an ad appears. Google explains how it uses cookies in advertising on its own page. Clearing the site data for printreal.app removes the Google cookies stored under printreal.app, but not the ones on Google's own domains: those are cleared from your browser's cookie settings, which differ from one browser to another.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent notice is shown before advertising cookies are used, and your choice is respected.
PrintReal's own code sets no cookies and runs no analytics service, tracking pixel or session recording. The local storage described above is not a cookie and is not transmitted with requests: it is read only by the page itself, on your device.
Third parties that do see something
These third parties see something when you use PrintReal, and we name them because it would be dishonest not to.
- Hosting: the site is served by Vercel, which — like any web host — processes the technical request data needed to deliver a page, such as your IP address, and keeps standard server logs. We do not add anything to those logs and do not use them to identify anyone.
- Google Fonts: the interface typeface is loaded from Google's font servers, which means your browser makes a request to them and they see your IP address. No PrintReal data is attached to it.
- Google AdSense: Google serves the ads on this site. Google and its advertising partners receive technical request data such as your IP address, and set cookies to serve and measure ads, as described under Cookies and advertising. No image or file of yours is part of that.
Children
PrintReal is a general-purpose utility with no account system, so there is nothing for a child to sign up to or hand over, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. The site is not aimed at children, and the ads on it are served by Google, which handles their data under its own policies.
Your rights
Rights such as access, correction, deletion and portability exist to give you control over data an organisation holds about you. We hold none: no account, no images, no analytics, no contact record beyond an email you chose to send. Advertising data is different: Google holds it, and requests about it go to Google, through its ad settings and privacy tools. There is accordingly nothing to export or erase on our side, and everything stored on your side can be cleared by you at any moment.
If you have emailed me, that email exists in an inbox like any other. Ask and I will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If PrintReal changes what it does with your data, for example by adding a feature that involves a server or another service that sets cookies, this page will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top will say so.
